Anand Kumar Shaw is a seasoned Software Engineer with over 8 years of experience in building scalable services that handle millions of traffic every day. Currently working as an SDE 2 at Uber, Anand has previously worked at Walmart and Paytm, where he contributed significantly to the development of their systems. At Walmart, Anand was part of the highly-scalable omni-channel store fulfillment systems for the world's largest retailer. He played a crucial role in building the Walmart US grocery system, which went from a thousand orders to millions of orders during the COVID era. Anand's expertise in Kafka, Java, Mssql, Meghacache, and Kubernetes helped him design and develop a system that served 200 tps. At Paytm, Anand worked on two significant projects. The first was the Marketplace Flights Integration, where he developed a Rest API service using Akka and Akka HTTP. The second project was the Multi-Staged Environment using Istio, where he developed a marketplace proxy named HPROP in NodeJS. Anand's interest in algorithms and data structures is evident from his participation in various competitive programming contests during his college days. He was selected for ACM ICPC South Asia Regionals, qualified for both Google Code Jam and Facebook Hacker Cup twice, and was the runner-up in the coding contest at Jadavpur University tech fest (Srijan 2015). Anand has a world rank of #3165 out of 2.5 Lakhs on the largest online programming platform. Anand holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science from Heritage Institute of Technology. He has a strong tech stack that includes Java, Kafka, Kubernetes, MSSQL, NodeJS, MySQL, SQL, Elastic Search, Spring, Microservices, Recommendation system, Redis, Docker, Javascript, MongoDB, Search, and Postgres.
